2 + 3 Fault : A common fault with the Battery Rectifier side because of old batteries or improperly configured XR packs. Solution: Always Worth Repairing– The usual fix is a thyristor or relay on the rectifier part of the UPS system.
2 + 4 Fault : This is the Ghost Fault. Rarely do we see the ups figure the problem out and light ups this code, often its intermittent. It a general battery charger fault. Solution: Always Worth Repairing – Its alot of work, because so many different parts can be bad. Having our test points helps alot.
3 Fault : This is the PFC Death Light. This problem is catch all failure with the 400volt power system. The only good part of this failure is that with good test points you can find whether its on the negative or positive side. Solution: Sometimes Worth Repairing– Its alot of work and often we fix something only to blow another something out.
5 Fault : This is the Inverter Death Light. This problem is catch all failure with the inverter power system. Usually its just a few parts that go bad. But we have seen this error because the entire unit is smoked. Solution: Sometimes Worth Repairing– If the unit just stopped, its worth repairing, but if it shot out fire and smoke and gives you this error… probably hopeless.
(No Light Fault) : If you dont hear anything, see anything, and you are sure your batteries are good.. this no light fault means you have a Bypass board fault. Solution: Always Worth Repairing – Its usually just board swap, but sometimes the bypass burned out for a reason. Then the real error occurs.
