Frequently asked questions

Which UPS systems use the SYBTU1-PLP?

APC Symmetra PX, Smart-UPS VT and Galaxy 3500 systems. Four SYBTU1-PLP units make up one SYBT4 battery string.

Are the batteries new?

Yes. The tray is refurbished, the batteries inside are always brand-new, and every module is tested before it ships.

Do I need to replace them in pairs?

Yes. Battery units in columns A and B must match, and C and D must match, or the UPS reports a mixed-battery fault. The best practice is to replace a full string of four.

Does the SYBTU1-PLP have a warranty?

No. Loose battery modules and trays are sold without a formal warranty.

Can you replace the modules for me?

Yes. Our technicians do on-site battery replacement for Symmetra PX and Smart-UPS VT systems, and old batteries are recycled free.

How long do SYBTU1-PLP batteries last?

Typically 3 to 5 years in a cool room, and less in a warm one. See our UPS battery replacement guide.

Can I test my battery units before replacing them?

Yes. Our SYBESTER3 field load tester checks SYBTU1 trays one at a time.
